Nina Salarno-Besselman is committed to giving back and has been serving our community for decades. Giving back is not a hollow saying or tagline –it’s her priority. In both her legal practice and in her community efforts, she believes in rolling up our sleeves and making a difference in people’s lives.
Nina worked with Gold Country Church to establish free Community Resource Clinics for families and individuals. These clinics gathered together professionals who donated their time to provide assistance to those who needed help. Some of the resources included legal assistance, crime victims’ resources, mental health, suicide prevention, housing assistance, financial services and more.
The Hear Us Yolo coalition includes collaborations with Nina, the Yolo District Attorney, Crime Victims United and other agencies to help victims become survivors. In its formative stage, Hear Us Yolo will encompass multiple forms of advocacy to include social media, education, legislation, and restorative justice that features the journey of the crime victim and survivor in the criminal justice system.
